John Hughes – General Manager
John has over 35 years experience in industries related to the movement of bulk commodities such as oil, wheat, iron ore and coal. In the early part of his career John was engaged in the Merchant Navy both on the Australian Coast and later overseas where he gained knowledge of the world’s oil trades. Subsequent to this, eleven years of experience in logistics at Gray and Timmins Pty Ltd led John to form his own logistics company, Coal Link Australia Limited.
Prior to John establishing Coal Link Australia in 2000, he also held the position of General Manager, Newcastle Coal Services. John is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport-Australia
Sharon Fakes – Manager Logistics
Sharon has worked in the coal industry for 20 years, 16 of those years in coal logistics both at mine site with Oceanic Coal Australia Limited, and with agency-based services at PWCS and Coal Link Australia.
Sharon has been with the company since 2006 and presently holds the position of Manager Logistics.
Cameron Fennell – Shipping Officer
Cameron has 3 years experience with QML Services in logistics, shipping and export documentation.
Prior to joining the company, Cameron gained extensive experience in the shipping industry as a Traffic Officer for over 10 years with Inchcape Shipping Services. During this employment, Cameron gained valuable experience in the Newcastle Port operations as well as relieving Traffic Officer at numerous Australian Ports.
Kate Hughes – Office Administrator
Since 2004, Kate has managed the Shipping documentation production and delivery to clients as well as general administration. Kate has 20 years experience in business administration.
